Fine Bretagne and Pommeau

Brittany has been, for several centuries, a land of cider-making tradition. At the end of the 19th century, apple brandy was made in farms and consumed by sailors. The Fine Bretagne (also called Lambig), benefits from an AOC since 2015 which promotes the territory and the Breton know-how. This local product is made from different varieties of apples carefully selected, all from orchards near our distillery. A multiple award winner at the main French spirits competitions, our Fine Bretagne AOC Gilles Leizour and our Pommeau de Bretagne AOC subtly condense the distinctive character of the Breton terroir. With an elegant colour rich in fruity notes, the Fine Bretagne Gilles Leizour embodies all the know-how of a great lover of apples.

Fine Bretagne Gilles Leizour – Glycine

40%, 70cl

Made in the pure Breton tradition, our Fine Bretagne Lambig is aged in oak casks and then reduced to 40°. It gives off freshness while remaining supple and accessible. In the nose as in the palate, it gives the feeling of biting into an apple fallen from the tree.

Tasting notes

Color : Gold.

Nose : Beautiful depth. Beautiful floral notes (rose and jasmine) followed by the fruitiness of stewed apple.

Palate: Soft and gentle start. The apple notes follow, enhanced by a nice vivacity

Finish : Fresh and fruity.

Fine Bretagne Gilles Leizour – Cuvée étoile

43%, 70cl

The Cuvée Etoile has been specially made for spirit lovers. Aged in oak casks from the Limousin region, it is marked by fine woody notes. Reminiscence of freshly baked apple pie, with light caramel aromas.

Tasting notes

Color : Amber.

Nose : Complex and intense. The ripe apple pairs with lilac and peppery notes in a nice balance.

Palate : Sweet. The roundness and sweetness are present all along. The balance apple-flower-spices is found with exceptional volume.

Finish : Very nice length, smooth and fruity.

Our Pommeaux de Bretagne

Pommeau de Bretagne is the traditional Breton aperitif par excellence. It is the result of a conservation practice commonly used in the farms of the cider producing regions. Our Pommeau de Bretagne AOC is obtained by pressing apples, variety by variety. Fruit of the blending of apple must and Fine Bretagne, it is then aged in oak barrels during 14 months minimum. The Fine Bretagne added is essential to proceed to the ``mutage`` and to avoid the fermentation. Our pommeau is made of 25% Fine Bretagne and 75% apple must. Like the Fine Bretagne, it is part of an AOC since 1997.

POMMEAU VIEILLE RÉSERVE

17%, 70cl

To make this Pommeau de Bretagne Vieille Réserve, we have selected the oldest casks of the distillery. Coming from the best apple harvests of the last years, this Vieille Réserve will seduce you with its deep and warm taste.
